The company owns a wide range of brands, including Absolut vodka, Chivas Regal whiskey, Olmeca tequila, Longmorn whiskey, Beefeater gin, Seagram whiskey, Kahlúa coffee liqueur, Perrier-Jouët champagne, and Malibu cocnut-flavored rum, as well as the eponymous Pernod anise and Ricard pastis.

Notable acquisitions and deacquisitions since the year 2000

In 2008, Pernod Ricard announced the acquisition of the Swedish-based V&S Group, an acquisition that included the rights to brands such as Absolut Vodka, Level Vodka and Frïs Vodka. The deal was approved and finalized on July 24, 2008 at an estimated value of 5.69 billion euro.

Pernod Ricard In 2005, Pernod Ricard acquired its British-based competitor Allied Domecq plc. After completing its takeover bid for the company, Pernod Ricard sold off overlapping spirits brands to USA-based Fortune Brands and UK-based Diageo, while Dunkin’ Brands was bought by a consortium of three private equity firms.

In 2001, Pernod Ricard sold the rights to the non-alcoholic chocolate beverage Yoo-hoo and the carbonated citrus drink Orangina to Cadbury Schweppes (now the Dr Pepper Snapple Group). Pernod Ricard had acquired Yoo-hoo from a group of private investors in 1989 and owned Orangina since 1984.

In 2000, Pernod Ricard purchased Seagram’s beverage division, including brands such as Chivas Regal.
