About French equities

The French equities market is divided into three main sections:

  • Premier Marché (formerly known as the Official List)
  • Second Marché
  • Nouveau Marché

Premier Marché includes really large French and foreign companies, as well as most bond issues. The Second Marché is for medium-sized companies, while Nouveau Marché is for fast-growing start up companies seeking capital for expansion. Nouveau Marché is linked to Euro.nm, the European equity growth market.

In addition to these three main sections, Euronext Paris administers a fourth market called Marché Libre. This is a nonregulated market for buying and selling securities that aren’t listed on any of the three main marchés.
